We use standard size 6 inch x 6 inch (15cm x 15cm) square origami paper for this site unless stated otherwise. If you can, use different types of origami paper to change the look of the finished origami and have fun with it!

Origami Party Hat

Below is the folding instructions for an easy origami party hat. 

 

 

For fun, we made a video of all our origami hats, modeled by animals. They include photos received from our readers...Check it out!

 

 

Origami Party Hat Step 1: Fold an origami helmet base.

 

Origami Party Hat Step 2: Flip paper over.

 

 

Origami Party Hat Step 3: Fold both sides to meet in the center.

 

 

 

Origami Party Hat Step 4: Fold the bottom tip up.

 

 

Origami Party Hat Step 5: Flip paper over.

 

 

Origami Party Hat Step 6: Fold the bottom tips upwards.

 

 

Origami Party Hat Step 7: Now we'll make 2 folds at an angle.

Origami Party Hat Step 8: A few more folds to complete our party hat. Make a valley fold as indicated below.

 

Origami Party Hat Step 9: Now make a mountain fold bringing the tips downwards.
