Here are some easy origami animals to get started with. You can try making an origami cat, dog, flapping bird, snake and even an origami snail.

You can start with any paper that you have around.  White computer printer paper can work but it's best to use actual origami paper.

Origami paper is generally thinner than computer paper and you'll really appreciate that when you have to make multiple folds. It gets more difficult to make clean creases if your paper is too thick.

Moreover, origami paper comes in all sorts of colors and designs and makes the finished product more spectacular.

When you have mastered those simple origami animals, you may want to try making these more difficult origami animals.
