Origami Elephant Head and Body

Here's an addition to our origami elephant family on this website. Young kids and adults can both enjoy folding this!

Origami Elephant Head and Body Step 1: Start with a 6 inch x 6 inch (15cm x 15cm) square origami paper, color side down. Fold on both the diagonal axis. Crease well and unfold.

Origami Elephant Head and Body Step 2: Fold the top tip down to where both the diagonal creases meet. At the same time, also fold the bottom tip up slightly, approximately 1/2 inch or 1.5cm.

Origami Elephant Head and Body Step 3: Fold both sides toward the center, creasing on the dotted lines shown below.

Origami Elephant Head and Body Step 4: Now fold both sides out on the shown dotted lines. You are folding the ears of your elephant!

Origami Elephant Head and Body Step 8: Repeat folding the trunk back up and down like folding a fan.

Origami Elephant Head and Body Step 10: Let's work on the ears slightly. Make 2 mountain folds where indicated.

and your origami elephant head is complete!

Origami Elephant Head and Body Step 11: Let's work on the body. It's very simple. Start with a 6 inch x 6 inch (15cm x 15cm) square origami paper color side up.

Fold on both the horizontal and vertical axis. Crease well and unfold.

Origami Elephant Head and Body Step 12: Fold the bottom up slightly, approximately 3/4 inch or 2cm. Crease well.

Origami Elephant Head and Body Step 13: Flip paper over and fold both the right and left sides to meet in the center.

That's it for the body!

Now put both the head and body together. Your origami elephant with head and body is complete!
