Modular Octahedral Unit

This modular octahedral unit is completed by assembling 12 sonobe units. The assembly is probably simpler if you only use one color, but you can challenge yourself and assemble a unit using 3 colors!

Follow instructions on the separate page and you should have the following to start with.

Modular Octahedral Unit Step 2: Make a fold along the diagonal as shown. Crease well and unfold.

Modular Octahedral Unit Step 3: Flip paper over.

Make the 2 vertical folds as shown. Crease well and unfold.

Modular Octahedral Unit Step 4: You've completed one unit. We need a total of 12 units for this assembly.

You can choose to use only 1 color which might make the assembly easier.

Or you could choose to use 3 colors, which means you've to fold 4 units of each color which is what we did/

Modular Octahedral Unit Step 5: Watch the video for the assembly process. It was tricky to take good photos of the assembly so we made a video instead.
