Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day both fall on February 14th in 2010 - very special indeed!

Following the Chinese Zodiac calendar, we're ending the Year of the Ox and ushering in the Year of the Tiger on Feb 14th.

Celebrate by folding your own chinese zodiac origami tiger! Other origami chinese zodiac signs include ox(cow), rabbit, dragon, snake.

For Valentine's Day we have plenty of origami hearts and origami flowers for your special someone. So get busy and start folding!

 

 

 

Holiday Origami - Origami Christmas Tree

Get into the holiday spirit by folding this origami christmas tree and decorating it any way you like. Kids and adults will have fun with this one!

You need 2 sheets of green (or whatever color you like) square 6" x 6" (15cm x 15cm) origami paper for this.

Origami Christmas Tree

Start with the color side facing down:

Fold it in half to form a triangle:

Open it up so that you can see the crease in the middle:

Fold the bottom tip to meet the crease in the center:

Flip it over and you should see this:

Now, fold the paper in half so that the left tip meets the right tip:

Now fold top half only so that the right slanting edge lines up with the left vertical edge:

Now flip the paper over and you should see this:

Repeat the fold, this time the left slantin edge should line up with the right vertical edge:

Now repeat the fold. Fold the left slanting edge to meet with the right vertical edge:

Flip the paper over and repeat the fold:

Open it up slightly and this is half of your origami Christmas Tree. You will need to repeat the steps and fold another half Christmas tree.

Once you have 2 of the above picture, you just need to tape them up on both sides so that they'll look like a 3D tree.

Now, all you need to do is to decorate your origami Christmas Tree. Have fun!
