Easy Modular Triangle Box

This may be the simplest of modular origami boxes! Just a few folds and the assembly is as easy as sliding the tips into the pocket!

Easy Modular Triangle Box Step 1: Start with a 6 inch x 6 inch (15cm x 15cm) square paper, color side down.

We used cardstock or scrapbook paper for this.

Fold paper in half on the horizontal diagonal axis. Crease well.

Easy Modular Triangle Box Step 2: Fold both the right and left tips to the top. Crease well and unfold.

Easy Modular Triangle Box Step 3: Fold the top tip to point A. Crease well and unfold. This completes your unit!

Easy Modular Triangle Box Step 4: Repeat Steps 1 to 3 and fold a total of 3 units.

Easy Modular Triangle Box Step 5: To assemble, simply slide the tip of one unit into the pocket of the other unit.

Easy Modular Triangle Box Step 6: Repeat Step 5 for the 3rd unit.

Easy Modular Triangle Box Step 7: Finally bring the left and right tips to the center. Slide the right tip into the left pocket.

And the easy modular triangle box is complete! The picture doesn't really capture the interesting shape of this origami. Try it out and see for yourself!

You can use the box for light items since the base is not completely secure. You may want to glue the paper at the base so that it's stronger if you're using it to store heavier items.
