Origami Boat Base Folding Instructions
This origami boat base is used as the starting point to fold various origami projects including the origami table and photo frame.
Origami Boat Base Step 1: Start with a square origami paper 6 inch x 6 inch (15cm x 15cm), color side down.
Origami Boat Base Step 2: Fold along both diagonal axis. Crease well and unfold.
Origami Boat Base Step 3: Now fold the paper in half on both the horizontal and vertical axis. Crease well and unfold. Your paper should now look like this.
Origami Boat Base Step 4: Now fold the right side to meet the center crease.
Origami Boat Base Step 5: Fold the left side to meet the center crease.
Origami Boat Base Step 6: Fold the top and bottom halves to meet the center crease.
Origami Boat Base Step 7: Now slightly unfold the top half. We're going to make 2 creases along the diagonal as shown by the dotted lines.
Pry open the paper on the right side and crease the paper on the diagonal.
We'll repeat for the left side. Pry open the paper, crease and press along the diagonal.
Origami Boat Base Step 8: Now bring the top back down to meet the center crease.
Looks like a house, doesn't it? :)
Origami Boat Base Step 9: Now, just repeat Steps 7 and 8 for the bottom half of the paper. Unfold the bottom half slightly.
Crease along the diagonal on the right side, then the left side.
Bring the bottom half back to meet the center crease.
That's it! Your origami boat base is completed!
